Masked assailants shot down two military policemen

Pak_soldiers_stand_guard_before_executions_AP_650KARACHI: Masked assailants while riding on a motorcycle gunned down two of the military policeman along the lines of Gull Plaza which is located at MA Jinnah Road in the evening hours on yesterday.

According to the sources, the soldiers who fell victim to the attack by the unknown assailants on a military jeep near Gull Plaza when two armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on the military policeman from the backside of where vehicle was parked.

District south police chief deputy inspector general (DIG) Dr Jameel Ahmed, in reference to the attack that resulted in the killing of the two military policemen uttered that, “This is a very serious incident but we will track down the attackers down soon.”

Sources further added that one of the soldiers died on the spot as a part of the attack while the other one succumbed to his injuries when was being treated under intense care at Civil Hospital fraction located in the area.  The gunmen, however, managed to flee after the shootout at the military jeep.

The personnel who were shot down as a result of the attack were later identified as Lance Naik Rashid and Havaldar Arshad Mehmood.

“Both of them were shot once in their heads,” stated the initial medico-legal report. The bodies of the deceased were later moved to the PNS Shifa Hospital.
