Pakistan handicapped to be part of IPCL

15 Pakistani handicapped players will be participating in the Physically Challenged Indian Cricket League (IPCL) which will be commencing from August 29 at Raja Nahar Singh Stadium, Faridabad.

Ravi Chauhan, secretary Physically Challenged Cricket Association of India stated: “August 29th is my birthday, so we have choose this day to inaugurate this dream project, which would also involve players from other countries and especially from Pakistan and Australia. At a time when both our countries are not ready to start bilateral cricketing ties, we and Pakistan Cricket Association for Physically Handicapped took an initiative and despite lot of pressure, we successfully toured Pakistan in last June last and they visited India in October last year.”

Ravi said he felt it extremely demotivating that every country would be participating in this event whilst Pakistani’s would be deprived fro, participation. Thus has appointed Shaikh Abdul Waheed as director of IPCL after his two visits to Pakistan last year. Ravi said “I found people there very loving, caring and they gave tremendous respect to us, we are planning to at least hire 10 to 15 players from Pakistan, and would offer them central contracts and other perks and privileges.”

Ravi said Pakistan and India have taken the early initiative of establishing the handicapped cricket teams and have also played against each other thrice and which has now bonded then in a love and respect relation, no one could break this partnership.

A total of Indian rupees 700,000 would be distributed among the eight participating teams in the inaugural IPCL and every team could add three international players, where two would be allowed in every match.

IPCL as told be Ravi will be conducted on the same grounds of IPL, where eight teams would be set up for players bid. Private companies including Royals, Delhi, Haryana Patrotias, Young Punjab, Bengal Tiger, Chhattisgarh Iron King, Bangalore strikers and HP will be involved in the bidding process.

The champions would be given Indian rupees 200,000, while the runners up will bag Indian Rs. 100,000 further the man of the series and best performing player of the series will be receiving Indian Rs .31,000 each.
